How are you doing?
Hope good and hope your wheels are turning and burning :D
My todays entry will be about repairing my Birdy.
What happend? Nothing too much.. Just.. Went deeper in the engine room.. Wanted to find what's wrong with the fuel system.. so changed eletrical fuel pump and there came the surprise... Fuel went out from the carb with big fountain.. What? Yeah - fountain.. Wanted to find out what's the problem - maybe float, needle or something else.. so remowed carb once more, changed gaskets, cleaned everything.. took apart till last detail then put back together and still... so started to look for help in forums and at friends. Everybody told that the pressure is too high or needle is old. Took needle out again, cleaned, re-checked and it was good - no damage, straight and seals good.. And then suddenly asked one stupid question - I'm not that good in engines, but I'm learning and my question was - Why do my carb car needs 2 fuel pumps? Eletrical in fuel tank and mechanical in the engine... And there was the answer - what? 2 pumps? and eletrical pump for carb engine? noone have ever heard about that kind of .. (don't know how to call that) in stock cars.. So now I have to look for pressure regulator or drop tank and remove the fuel pump.. but it will take me some 12 hours to take apart and put everything back..
Bad experience is also experience, so now I know that carb engines doesn't need electrical fuel pump unless they are not stock!
And yeahh... I'm taking my number plates out today, so I'm going for the first ride tomorrow or in weekend.. So see you soon on the road! :))
